Traverse City Light & Power’s board has voted to include a community wide 100 percent clean energy goal in its strategic plan. Through that goal, the utility plans to achieve 100 percent clean energy by 2040. The roundtable discussion will be hosted at Traverse City Light & Power’s headquarters.
Michigan’s clean energy economy has grown year after year, creating jobs and sparking investment. The clean energy sector has also been an increasingly large employer of military veterans. Nov. 12 is the observed day of Veterans Day, and we will have veterans working in the renewable energy sector represented on the panel to discuss how this growing sector is employing veterans.
The clean energy roundtable discussion will focus on the economic impacts of Michigan’s growing clean energy sector with a particular focus on Traverse City’s clean energy goal. The panel will feature local clean energy businesses, city officials, utility representatives and more to discuss the future and economic potential of clean energy in the area and throughout the state.
