The solar energy industry is a proven job creator and workforce development is a central component. On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, Cypress Creek Renewables announced a workforce development partnership with Cape Fear Community College. This initiative will support students and instructors that are a part of the college's Sustainability Technologies program.
North Carolina is second in the nation for solar installations. The solar industry added 500 jobs in the state in 2017, growing seven percent over the prior year. The state now ranks 7th in the nation for total solar jobs (source: The 2017 National Solar Jobs Census).
This event celebrated renewable energy job creation in North Carolina, and took a look at the future of solar with a separate battery storage tour.
Following the announcement there was a tour of Rangeball Solar, Cypress Creek's first solar + storage facility.
